My name is Max.
I'm an engineer who loves to create
products that make people gasp, smile, and laugh
softgoods that perform well and feel incredible
products that feel like
you’ve always had them
prototype after prototype
until it's perfect
in teams, surrounded
by other makers
products that make people gasp, smile, and laugh

About Me

Taken in
Product Realization Lab

Where Fun Follows Function

At my core, I am a maker. Growing up as a child actor, that took the form of creating characters and always trying to make people laugh. As I fell in love with engineering in college, I became obsessed with trying to communicate those same feelings through a product. During my time at Stanford studying product design engineering, I dove into needfinding, and design methodology to uncover not just how to make a product, but what products need making. Through numerous projects and inventions, I honed my ability to generate sparks and turn them into prototypes.

Through my MS in Mechancial Engineering with a concentration in manufacturing, I learned how to turn those singular prototypes into scaled products. My second home became the Stanford Product Realization Lab, where I was a course assistant teaching mechanical design, machining, casting, welding, and wood working, all while guiding students through their projects. During my second year I became the injection molding specialist and began to work with soft materials like cast silicone and injection molded TPEs.

This all brought me to 1X, where I am currently on the softgoods team, developing the covers on Neo!
